Season Is Coming!
The 23rd April — St George's Day — marks the official start of English asparagus season. A mere eight weeks of the good stuff, running right through to the Summer Solstice on 21st June. Blink and you’ll miss it! Not surprising when each spear can grow 10cm in a single day and still needs to be hand-picked.
We are incredibly lucky in Thanet to have Sevenscore Asparagus on our doorstep — one of the finest producers in the country. Sevenscore got the royal seal of approval when they supplied asparagus to William & Kate's wedding.
To celebrate Spring , we're hosting An Asparagus Dinner — five courses, with each course showcasing a different way to prepare and eat asparagus.
A love letter to eight weeks of the year when our local produce is genuinely world-class.
